I first experienced chiropractic when I was 15 years old. I was competing internationally in athletics and began to feel recurring lower back pain when sprinting. After trying various types of treatment, chiropractic was recommended and my first appointment soon followed. I was lucky to have open-minded parents and coaches who supported me in trying a new approach. The treatment immediately gave me huge relief, enabled me to continue sprinting and I haven’t looked back since.
I spent 6 years in private practice in Mayo, and now live in Greystones with my husband and three young children. I joined the team at Terenure Chiropractic in 2012.
Greystones is a great location for us, as we love to have an active lifestyle. Both my husband and I are members of Wicklow Triathlon Club and find the time to swim, cycle and run as often as possible. I come from an athletic family and love to help keep them all in optimal health and injury free with regular chiropractic care. Each of my children has had regular chiropractic treatment since birth, which helps them sleep soundly and stay healthy so they can be at their best every day.
Pregnancy and Paediatrics
My strongest passion is in treating women during pregnancy as well as paediatric care. Improving the health of both mother and baby, allowing them to enjoy a better quality of life throughout pregnancy, birth and early childhood gives me huge personal satisfaction.
I look after prenatal, pregnant and postnatal women with a variety of complaints such as back pain, symphysis pubis dysfunction (SPD) and pelvic girdle pain. I also treat many women without pain or a specific condition. These women want to ensure their body is in the best condition, and their baby in the best position, for the most natural labour and delivery as possible.
I am certified in the Webster Technique through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA) and I am currently the only certified ICPA practitioner in Dublin and Wicklow. The Webster Technique is used worldwide and is an invaluable treatment during pregnancy.
I also use chiropractic as a safe, gentle and effective way to treat young infants and children. As well as increasing general well-being, chiropractic consistently helps to overcome a range of common complaints such as colic, constipation, reflux, feeding difficulties, recurring ear infections, bed wetting, sleep issues and much more.
I fully appreciate the trust it takes to try a new approach during pregnancy, or for your infant or child. I assure you I will explain every step of the overall process and of your personalised treatment plan. I am also more than happy to answer any questions over the phone or in person in advance of your consultation.
